About deothersideofme
Sep 9th, 2007 by Felix Alaita
Ok so I finally summed up enough courage to shelve my shyness and write this about page. I hope I get to the end of it though. So – Hi! My name is Felix and am a web logger. (Response….?) I’m actually a newbie in the blogging business but with a determination to take it to all heights, with your help, criticism and contributions. My target? 3rd in blog ranking worldwide – Why 3rd you might wonder.
More about me, my pen name online has come to stay as deothersideofme (sometimes ‘deot’ for short) since I created it in 2001. What side of me you may ask, the side that represents or allows everything creative and analytic about my personality (sometimes unacceptable to the norms of the society and life I live, but exist all the same) to come out.
Would I call myself a poet – hmm, I think you should decide. I just know that sometimes I find myself expressing my thoughts in rhythmic bursts. Like The Chronicles of a Million Eyes which came to me one night I was out with friends. I saw the disparities in our eyes, how our eyes look and how we look at things-the dominant thoughts inherent and blam! Chronicles of a Million Eyes. Check it out, maybe you’d find your eyes there.
I am a net enthusiast, learning the ropes informally, in constant search for ‘how it works’. With each passing day getting more and more hooked to this beautiful artform called the worldwide web. I’m also said to have talent in arts and crafts and a host of other stuff. Sometimes my friends call me a multitasker.
Basically though am a simple guy looking forward to grabbing and retaining your attention here in my new home, impacting on your life positively and making a contribution to the existence of mankind. I am proudly Nigerian and here to represent and highlight efforts by fellow Nigerians to project a much more positive image for my beloved country Nigeria. A land blessed with every resource possible. I therefore call on you all to rise and take the challenge of competing with the rest of the world. Let us find a place among the stars for our beloved country. We have what it takes – Fact! Let us use it.
